Taming the Blaze
Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you help with dragons that DON'T breathe fire?
Yes! Taming the Blaze is just a play on words as the fire-breathing wyvern (which is often referred to incorrectly as a dragon) is so notorious.
How do know what a dragon is supposed to eat?
Before getting your dragon, please do your research on the specie. There are insectivores, herbivores, carnivores, gastroliths, piscivores, and many with specific diets. DO NOT get a dragon without knowing how to care for it first. Unlike most pets, there are few suppliers of dragon care products and waiting for online deliveries is a sure way for someone to get hurt.
Can I get my dragon declawed?
NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT. YOU SHOULDN’T DECLAW ANY LIVING BEING EVER. WE ARE SHOCKED THIS WAS EVEN A QUESTION. DO NOT ATTEMPT, YOU WILL FAIL. Cutting of the fingers to the first joint will irreversibly sever any relationship with a dragon, if you can even manage it without being eaten or killed.
Is it a good idea to try to speak dragon to my dragon?
Please do not. There are many dragon languages, and some dragons may take an attempt to speak their language with offense. It’s often a worse result than trying to speak French poorly.
Are there any ethical dragon breeders?
Dragon breeding in the sense of breeding them for sale like dogs or cats is an extremely taboo practice. It is allowed for conservational reasons, but those dragons are to be kept in the wild for the entirety of their lives. If you find a dragon breeder who is selling dragon hatchlings, please follow this link for further instructions. Do not buy from dragon breeders.
Do you do school programs?
We do! We will bring one or more of our dragon ambassadors to schools or other educational gatherings to spread awareness of how dragons are to be properly integrated into society.
